INFORM's Crane Optimizer determines the execution sequence of crane jobs to reduce empty spreader moves and waiting time between lifts. The system evaluates job priorities, crane positions, safety clearances, and vessel/yard interface constraints to create work sequences. Where container positions allow, the Crane Optimizer identifies double-cycle opportunities – discharging one container and immediately loading another in the same cycle. Through real-time feeds from crane positioning and safety systems, the optimizer adjusts to actual crane locations and operational interruptions. For terminal operators, this translates into higher moves per crane hour and better equipment utilization.
